Want to try coffee in a new and exciting way? Well, here are three great coffee bean snack recipes that you can easily do at home.

Chocolate-Covered Coffee Beans

Chocolate Covered Coffee BeansCoffee beans covered in chocolate are a perfect snack for on-the-go! The classic method is to combine medium roasted coffee beans with a high-quality dark chocolate, however, other types of chocolate work amazingly as well! The recipe below is a fantastic base recipe that you can add to and tweak to suit your individual taste or mood. Feel like something spicy? Try adding a little chili. Feeling a little Christmassy? Throw in a hint of cinnamon.

Little tip for you though. If you choose to use white or sweet flavoured chocolate, combine it with a dark roasted coffee bean to balance out the flavours.

Ingredients

  • 100g of high quality dark chocolate (70% or higher)
  • 40g roasted coffee beans (medium roast)
  • Optional: cocoa powder and/or coconut flakes

Chocolate-Covered Coffee Beans Recipe

  • Cut the chocolate into small chunks
  • Place 2/3rds of the chocolate in a bowl and melt over hot, not boiling, water
  • Once melted, remove the bowl from the water and temper the chocolate by adding the other 1/3 of the chocolate to the bowl
  • Add the coffee beans to the melted chocolate
  • Stir until each coffee bean is coated with chocolate, making sure there are no clumps
  • Place each bean onto a piece of parchment paper and wait for the chocolate coating to solidify
  • If you want a larger chocolate coating, repeat the process as many times as you want
  • Add any toppings you want onto the beans while the chocolate is still soft
